About me
I’m Danny Avila Gil, a Vancouver-based sound designer. I’m a graduate of the Sound Design for Visual Media program at the Vancouver Film School. Since graduating, I’ve honed my skills through game jams, redesigns, and my current work on Avatone, a mobile app startup that combines gaming and exercise.
I combine technical skill, creativity, and a lived appreciation for sound to deliver immersive, high quality audio for video games.
An interesting fact about me is that I was born hard of hearing. I had hearing aids until my hearing was completely fixed when I was 14. Re-experiencing sound at this age really made me more attentive and appreciative of audio experiences, especially in video games. I was always interested in the audio perspective of video games, but when my hearing was fixed it made me even more passionate.
